Shelton State Community College is in the process of developing a new Respiratory Therapy Program. The goal is to admit students to the new program in Spring 2011. Students interested in seeking admission to the new program Spring 2011 should review the following information:

Proposed General Education Course Requirements

BIO 201 - Human Anatomy and Physiology I 4 Hrs. *
BIO 202 - Human Anatomy and Physiology II 4 Hrs.
ENG 101 - English Composition I 3 Hrs.
MTH 100 - Intermediate College Algebra 3 Hrs.
ORI 101 - Orientation To College 1-2 Hrs.
PSY 200 - General Psychology 3 Hrs.
SPH 106 - Fundamentals of Oral Communication 3 Hrs. or
SPH 107 - Fundamentals of Public Speaking 3 Hrs. or
SPH 116 - Introduction to Interpersonal Communication 3 Hrs.
CIS 146 - Microcomputer Applications 3 Hrs.

Total General Education Credits: 24 or 28

* Prerequisite: BIO 103 or satisfactory placement on the Alabama Community College System Biology Placement Exam. BIO 201 and BIO 202 must be completed within last 5 years. If not, the BIO 202 has to be taken again.
