Office Administration - Medical Transcription
A medical transcriptionist prepares a written document from a physician’s dictation about a patient’s health status, i.e. surgical procedures, medical condition, prognosis, etc. Educational preparation requires medical transcription, proofreading, report format, editing and production.
NOTE: This program is not designed to meet all of the requirements for accreditation, licensure and certification for Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or other medical accreditation agencies. General Education (Areas I-IV): 12 Semester Hours
Technical Concentration and Electives: 46 Semester Hours
Electives: 3 Semester Hours
Recommended Electives
Students must select three credit hours in OAD or CIS courses. Total Hours Required for Certificate: 58
