Shelton State Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degrees.  Please contact SACSCOC at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, or call 404.679.4500 for questions about the accreditation of Shelton State Community College.

 

Program Accreditations

The Shelton State Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Programs are approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN), RSA Plaza, 770 Washington Avenue, Suite 250, Montgomery, AL 36104, telephone 334.293.5200. The programs are also accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN), 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, Georgia 30326, telephone 404.975.5000.

The Shelton State Health Information Technology Program is in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM), 233 N. Michigan Ave, 21st Floor, Chicago, IL 60601-5800, telephone 312.233.1134.

The Shelton State Respiratory Therapy Program holds continuing accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (www.coarc.com). This status signifies that a program has demonstrated sufficient compliance with CoARC standards. It is recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) toward eligibility to the Respiratory Care Credentialing Examination(s). CoARC is located at 1248 Harwood Road, Bedford, Texas 76021-4244. CoARC can be contacted by phone at 817.283.2835.
