TBI 225 - Commercial Truck Driver Training 120 contact hours
Prerequisite: None This program is a 120-hour competency-based program designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the industry as a tractor-trailer driver or straight truck driver. Using the current truck fleet that includes box, flatbed, and lowboy trailers, students will receive classroom, range, and highway training in order to obtain a Class “A” (tractor-trailer) Commercial Driver’s License with air brake, tank, hazardous materials, and doubles/triples endorsements when applicable. Upon successfully passing the Commercial Driver’s License written examination, pre-trip inspection, a skills test, and road test requirements the student will be able to obtain his/her operator’s license from the Alabama Department of Public Safety and receive a certificate of completion from Shelton State Community College. Students will receive instruction in the following areas:
