Computerized Numerical Control
Shelton State Community College has long been recognized as the state’s center for training in numerical control. Using numerical control, automatic operation is achieved by means of numerical instructions expressed in computerized code and prepared in advance. Shop conditions simulate those found in industry, and students learn how to read blueprints, determine sequence of operations, make their own set-ups, choose the correct machine for the job, and produce a quality product efficiently. Prior training and experience as a machinist is required for admission to the CNC program. Students interested in entering the CNC program should contact the CNC instructor for admission requirements. General Education (Areas I-IV): 12 Semester Hours
Technical Concentration and Electives: 43 Semester Hours
